Stellantis Announces Major $13 Billion Investment Plan in the U.S.

Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, has unveiled a historic $13 billion investment plan aimed at significantly boosting its U.S. manufacturing operations. This investment is expected to create over 5,000 new jobs across several states, including Michigan and Illinois, where a new midsize truck will be produced in Toledo. As part of this ambitious plan, Stellantis will also reopen its Belvidere Assembly Plant to manufacture Jeep SUVs, including the Cherokee and Compass, which had previously been slated for production in Brampton, Canada. Despite the focus on expanding production, the company has noted that electric vehicles (EVs) will not be the primary emphasis of this investment. The announcement has led to a boost in Stellantis stock, reflecting positive investor sentiment toward the company’s commitment to U.S. manufacturing.
