Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is set to meet with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff in Oslo as part of renewed efforts for peace talks concerning the ongoing war with Russia. This meeting comes at a time of heightened tensions between the U.S. and Ukraine, particularly following comments from former President Trump that appeared to favor Russia. With discussions anticipated between U.S. representatives and Zelenskyy about next steps in diplomacy, both sides are eager to address the urgent need for a resolution amidst a looming energy crisis. Ukraine signals its willingness to negotiate, while continued attacks from Russia complicate the diplomatic landscape. The U.S. aims to revive talks with proposals for a meeting involving Putin, creating a critical moment for stakeholders.
