Pentagon Establishes New Anti-Drone Task Force Led by Army
In response to the increasing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems (UAS), the Pentagon has announced the formation of a new interagency task force focused on counter-drone capabilities. Spearheaded by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, this initiative aims to accelerate the delivery of effective counter-drone solutions both domestically and internationally. The task force, referred to as Task Force 401, will bring together various agencies to centralize efforts and find rapid solutions to combat the growing risk of hostile drones. Hegseth emphasized the importance of speed in addressing these pressing threats, directing military leaders to prioritize the establishment of coordinated defenses to safeguard against aerial incursions.
