A tense standoff in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Northeast Portland has concluded after approximately 12 hours, with police taking the armed suspect into custody. The situation began when the suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment, resulting in a hostage situation. Thankfully, the hostage was safely released, and a shelter-in-place order that was previously issued for the surrounding community has now been lifted. Police had responded to reports of an armed individual, engaging in lengthy negotiations before the suspect finally surrendered.
