A Metra UP-North train collided with a semi-truck in Wilmette, resulting in injuries to two passengers and significant delays on the Union Pacific North line. The incident occurred at the Linden Avenue crossing, where the train struck a flatbed truck carrying milling equipment. Following the crash, service on the UP-North line was suspended for several hours while emergency responders attended to the scene. One individual was hospitalized due to the accident. Train operations have since returned to a normal schedule after the incident was resolved.
