Multiple reports of sexual assault have emerged from a fraternity house near the University of Chicago, describing unsettling incidents where a group allegedly cheered on as a woman was assaulted. Witnesses have shared that individuals blocked her friends from intervening, intensifying calls for accountability from students and faculty alike. Authorities have identified a person of interest in connection with the assaults and have banned him from campus, although no charges have yet been filed. The fraternity implicated, Alpha Epsilon Pi, claims no members were involved and is cooperating with police investigations. In the wake of these events, students are demanding stronger protections and better training around issues of sexual violence within Greek life.
