Trump Nominates Kari Lake and Doug Mastriano to Diplomatic Posts
Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has been nominated by President Trump to serve as the United States ambassador to Jamaica. This appointment comes amid her controversial history, including efforts to shut down the Voice of America. In addition to Lake, Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano has been tapped to be the ambassador to Slovakia. Both nominations are seen as a way for Trump to provide new roles for his previous allies while maintaining a strong influence overseas.
