Authorities in Palatine have thwarted an alleged mass shooting plot targeting a Hindu place of worship in Aurora, led by a 19-year-old suspect named Alexandros Paporakis. Police reported that the teen planned to carry out the attack but was apprehended after his rifle jammed, preventing what could have been a tragic incident. Paporakis, who has been charged with making terrorist threats and other related offenses, reportedly holds white supremacist views. During the investigation, a manifesto was recovered outlining his intentions. The incident underscores growing concerns about violence against religious minorities.
