In a significant shift for the White House press corps, Donald Trump has appointed Katie Zacharia, a conservative commentator and advisor from his media company, as the new White House press secretary. Zacharia, who succeeds Karoline Leavitt, is known for her outspoken views and has a background that includes living in Beijing and speaking Chinese. As she prepares to hold her first press conference next week, discussions around her appointment have ignited mixed reactions. Some commentators are scrutinizing her for past statements and controversial theories, while others are focusing on her loyalty to Trump and her plans to address key issues, including reports about the economy and foreign relations.
