The U.S. Air Force has officially designated Northrop Grumman’s Talon prototype aircraft as YFQ-48A. This designation marks a significant step in the development of semi-autonomous drone technology, which the Air Force plans to integrate into its future operations. Additionally, the Air Force has expanded its vendor pool for the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program, selecting nine companies for the next phase of drone development. Northrop Grumman is targeting the first flight of Project Talon next year, promising advancements in aerial combat support technology.
