MLB Teams Transition to MLB Media for Broadcasting Rights
In a significant shakeup, multiple Major League Baseball (MLB) teams are shifting their broadcasting rights from FanDuel Sports Network to MLB’s own media division. Six teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers, are leaving the troubled regional network in a bid for more reliable production and distribution. Starting in 2026, MLB will produce local broadcasts for the Cardinals, Royals, Reds, Brewers, Marlins, and Rays, providing fans with new streaming services and improved accessibility without regional blackouts. The Braves are also exploring plans for their own television network while announcing updates on their future broadcasting strategy. This mass exodus reflects the growing dissatisfaction with FanDuel and aims to enhance the viewing experience for fans across the country.
