Major Disruptions in Indonesia Due to Anak Krakatau Volcano Eruption

Indonesia is currently facing significant travel disruptions following a strong eruption of the Anak Krakatau volcano. The eruption has resulted in the closure of eight airports, including the main hub in Jakarta, stranding around 270,000 travelers and leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights. Various airlines have been affected, causing chaos at key airports such as Changi and Soekarno-Hatta. The volcanic ash has reached heights of up to 50,000 feet, prompting authorities to issue natural disaster alerts and extend airport closures. Although volcanic activity has shown signs of easing, several airports remain shut, affecting many passengers and disrupting local schools and fishing activities.
