A magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred off the coast of Oregon, specifically near the Blanco Fracture Zone. The quake was felt across southern Vancouver Island, but local authorities, including the National Weather Service, have confirmed that there is no tsunami threat related to this seismic activity. In addition, a smaller 3.7 magnitude earthquake was also detected off the same coast. The recent quake is part of a series of seismic activities attributed to the Pacific Ring of Fire.
