The government has approved procedures for verifying the ties of religious institutions to the RPTC, reflecting increased public interest in establishing a unified Orthodox Church in the country, with over 60% of respondents advocating for this formation. Additionally, a significant portion of believers, over 50%, now belong to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), and more than 70% of Ukrainians regard themselves as Orthodox. The landscape of religious affiliation continues to evolve amidst ongoing discussions about strengthening national identity and independence from foreign influences.
