The U.S. Space Force is exploring significant changes to its satellite strategies, considering both alternatives to SpaceX for its satellite program and the potential employment of SpaceX for data relays. Recently, the Space Development Agency (SDA) requested $277 million for a MILNET satellite communication network while announcing the cancellation of the Tranche 3 of its transport layer. This comes as the Pentagon reassesses its space-based data network, with ongoing discussions about collaborating with SpaceX to develop military satellite internet capabilities.
