Florida Woman Triumphs in Record-Breaking Python Challenge
In a stunning display of skill and dedication, Florida resident Taylor Stanberry has been crowned the champion of the Florida Python Challenge after capturing an impressive 60 invasive Burmese pythons. Her remarkable feat contributed to a record total of 294 pythons removed from the Everglades during this year’s competition. Stanberry, who stands just 4’11”, has not only claimed the title but also won a cash prize of $10,000. This year’s challenge highlights the ongoing efforts to manage the invasive python population in Florida, which poses a significant threat to native wildlife. As the challenge concludes, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) celebrated the success of participants in combatting the invasive species.
