Shifts in Global Religious Landscape: Islam Grows, Christianity Declines
A recent Pew report highlights significant changes in the global religious landscape from 2010 to 2020, indicating that Islam has become the fastest growing religion worldwide. While Christianity remains the largest religious group, its share of the global population has declined as more individuals leave the faith, particularly in the United States. Conversely, the number of Muslims continues to rise dramatically, driven by higher birth rates. Although the Jewish population saw a modest increase, it still accounts for just 0.2% of the global population. The findings suggest a dynamic shift, with a considerable growth in non-religious populations and a steady presence of Hinduism.
