In a significant enforcement operation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of 1,361 individuals in the Houston area, including child predators, gang members, and a convicted airplane hijacker. The sweep highlighted serious public safety risks associated with repeat offenders, as many of those apprehended had criminal convictions ranging from sexual offenses to murder. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also detained five illegal immigrants linked to serious crimes, underscoring ongoing efforts to enhance community safety by removing dangerous individuals from the streets.
