Raytheon Company Agrees to Pay Over $950 Million to Settle Fraud and Bribery Allegations

Raytheon Company, alongside its parent company RTX, has agreed to pay over $950 million to resolve serious allegations including defective pricing, foreign bribery, and violations of export control laws. The settlement addresses claims that the defense contractor defrauded the U.S. Department of Defense and made bribe payments to a Qatari official. As part of this arrangement, Raytheon will pay a $252 million penalty specifically for the Qatar bribery charges, in addition to various other penalties totaling hundreds of millions. Despite these legal challenges, the company has seen no slowdown in government contracts.
