The US Interior has announced significant budget cuts that will affect maintenance and programming at national parks across the country, including several sites in New Mexico. These cuts are particularly impacting funding for research assistants at iconic parks like Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. Local parks in New Mexico will experience reductions in maintenance and future-proofing projects, raising concerns over the potential long-term consequences for these natural resources.
