NC State has announced the firing of head football coach Dave Doeren after a disappointing 3-4 start to the season and following a loss to Stanford. This decision marks a significant change in leadership for the Wolfpack football program, as Doeren had been at the helm for 14 seasons. Todd Goebbel has been named the interim head coach as the school begins its search for a permanent replacement. Notable candidates, including former player Philip Rivers and Dan Mullen, are already being discussed as potential successors. The university faces challenges in rebuilding as it navigates the coaching transition and looks to improve its roster and recruiting priorities.
