Emergency Landing of United Airlines Flight Due to Engine Failure
A United Airlines flight heading to Tokyo from Dulles International Airport experienced engine failure shortly after takeoff, prompting an emergency return to the airport. During the incident, the plane lost power in one of its engines, which resulted in sparks igniting brush near the runway. Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely back at Dulles after circling in the air for nearly an hour. No injuries have been reported among the passengers or crew. Fire crews responded to the scene to manage the brush fire triggered by the engine issue. Passengers described a frightening experience, with visible smoke reported during takeoff. The Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) is currently investigating the incident.
