Micron Announces Massive $200 Billion Investment in U.S. Semiconductor Manufacturing
Micron has unveiled plans to invest $200 billion in U.S. manufacturing facilities and research and development, aiming to significantly boost domestic chip production. The initiative, supported by the Trump administration, is expected to generate around 90,000 jobs and enhance the U.S. share in global memory manufacturing. As part of this expansion, Micron plans to establish a second memory-manufacturing plant in Boise and has increased its investment by $30 billion to meet rising demand, particularly in AI technologies. This strategic push reflects a major commitment to revitalizing the U.S. semiconductor industry amidst intensifying global competition.
