Oregon Safari Park Owner Arrested Amid Drug and Animal Welfare Investigation

Authorities have arrested the owner of the West Coast Game Park Safari in Oregon following a raid that uncovered over 300 animals, including lions and tigers, as well as significant amounts of drugs and firearms. During the operation, police seized 44 guns and approximately $1.6 million in cash. The investigation revealed troubling conditions at the facility, prompting animal welfare advocates to intervene. 310 animals were relocated to various sanctuaries and rescue facilities as part of the operation. This is not the first time the park has faced scrutiny; federal reports have cited years of disturbing conditions. As the owner now faces multiple drug charges, the case has raised serious concerns about animal care standards at wildlife parks.
