Hurricane Milton Causes Severe Damage to Tropicana Field and Surrounding Areas
Hurricane Milton has wreaked havoc across Florida, with the most notable destruction occurring at the Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. The storm's 100-mph winds completely ripped off the roof of the stadium, leaving significant debris scattered across the field. Reports indicate that it may take weeks for the Rays to fully assess the damage, and there's concern that repairs won't be completed in time for the 2025 MLB season. Other local infrastructure, including Sarasota Bradenton Airport and Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, also sustained extensive roof damage. As winds reached catastrophic levels, more than 3 million residents were left without power while state officials scrambled to assess the extensive impacts of the storm.
