As the Los Angeles mayoral race heats up, incumbent Mayor Karen Bass is engaged in a fierce battle for a second term against her challenger Nithya Raman, who is backed by democratic socialists. Support for Raman continues to grow, particularly with endorsements from influential figures like Supervisor Lindsey Horvath. The political landscape in LA is characterized by divisions, as Bass faces criticism and supporters express frustrations regarding her leadership. With just two weeks left in the campaign, both candidates are making their final pushes to secure votes, particularly from critical demographics such as Black voters.
