Recent recommendations from the CDC indicate that adults aged 50 and older should receive the pneumococcal vaccine, with specific guidance also suggesting the inclusion of the COVID vaccine for seniors and the immune-compromised. This follows an expansion of vaccine advisory options, supported by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which now recommends the use of various pneumococcal vaccines, such as PREVNAR 20 and Merck’s CAPVAXIVE™, for this age group.
