A series of bomb threats targeted multiple flights across Europe, leading to emergency landings and significant disruptions in air travel. Seven flights, including ones from UK airports, were affected, with reports of grounded aircraft and temporary airport closures throughout the region. Despite the alarm caused by these threats, authorities confirmed that all devices were hoaxes. Notably, an Israel-bound plane made an emergency landing in Sofia while a Ryanair flight from Portugal had to land unexpectedly in Italy due to a bomb threat. In total, several aircraft underwent searches, but no explosives were found, highlighting that these threats were malicious hoaxes. Security alerts were triggered at airports as the situation unfolded, underscoring the ongoing challenges posed by such incidents.
