The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a series of prosecutions related to illegal voting, charging individuals in several states for offenses connected to noncitizen voting. Notably, five people have been charged in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and New Jersey. Among those charged are residents from Central Pennsylvania and a Mexican man living in Beloit, who allegedly voted illegally in the 2022 Russian election. Federal prosecutors are intensifying efforts to address voter fraud, particularly ahead of the midterm elections, with multiple indictments reported in both the 2022 and 2024 elections. This crackdown follows numerous investigations resulting in arrests and charges pertaining to fraudulent registration and illegal voting activities.
