Microsoft has announced that approximately 394,000 Windows computers worldwide have been infected by Lumma malware. In a significant coordinated effort involving the Department of Justice, Europol, and other international partners, authorities have executed a comprehensive takedown of this infostealer. The operation led to the seizure of 2,300 domains associated with Lumma, disrupting one of the most prevalent cybercrime tools used by cybercriminals. ESET also participated in this global initiative aimed at dismantling the infrastructure of Lumma Stealer. This collective action underscores the severe threat posed by such malware and highlights ongoing challenges in cybersecurity.
