An emergency situation was declared at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina after a fire broke out in a laboratory on the site, which is known for handling nuclear materials. The fire prompted an emergency response, with authorities confirming no contamination detected beyond the lab. Flights and transport in the area were briefly restricted due to concerns over a potential radiological release. Fortunately, the fire has since been contained, and the emergency has been lifted. Workers at the site have been cleared to report as usual, and one injury was reported during the incident.
