The US Department of Labor has launched a new website aimed at building artificial intelligence skills and expanding AI-focused Registered Apprenticeship programs. As part of this initiative, they are finalizing the launch of an AI workforce hub and have introduced guidance encouraging employers to implement ‘AI literacy’ training for workers. This effort is seen as a critical step in addressing the AI skills gap, beginning with foundational reading skills development. Recently, both AI experts and novices participated in the ‘Make America AI-Ready’ course, providing valuable feedback on the program. In an ongoing push for AI policy, the Labor Department has also launched an AI Apprenticeship Portal to further facilitate these training efforts.
