As the world marks 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, attention is focused on the dwindling number of survivors who endured the horrors of the Holocaust. Events are taking place globally, including a presidential delegation to commemorate this significant anniversary in Oświęcim, Poland. Survivors share their stories, with some retracing their steps at the camp, while others express concerns that lessons from WWII remain unlearned. Notably, ceremonies aim to honor the memory of those lost, alongside exhibitions and documentaries shedding light on this dark chapter in history. With only 50 survivors expected to attend the remembrance events, their voices are becoming increasingly rare but remain vital in educating future generations.
