DACA Recipients Gain Access to Health Insurance in Connecticut
In a significant development for DACA recipients, they will soon be able to access health coverage through the state health care marketplace, Access Health CT, starting November 1. This change marks the first time undocumented immigrants covered by DACA can enroll in health insurance. In-person events will be hosted by Access Health CT to assist with enrollment, and assistance will also be available at local libraries. Despite a lawsuit challenging the new rule, Republican attorneys general are seeking to block the provision that allows DACA recipients to access health care. Nonetheless, open enrollment is now underway, allowing eligible individuals to seek health insurance.
