CVS and UnitedHealth Push for FTC Recusal in Insulin Pricing Case
CVS and UnitedHealth have filed motions requesting the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to disqualify Chair Lina Khan and two other commissioners from their ongoing legal battle concerning pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and insulin pricing. These companies argue that Khan and the commissioners demonstrate bias against them in the case. This comes amid rising calls from senators for further antitrust investigations into pharmacy middlemen. Additionally, Texas has initiated a lawsuit against several firms, accusing them of conspiring to set insulin prices unfairly. The conflict between the FTC and PBMs appears to be intensifying as both sides prepare for a significant legal showdown.
