Beach to Beacon 10K Returns with New Champions and Strong Participation
The annual Beach to Beacon 10K race returned for its 28th year in Cape Elizabeth, drawing over 6,500 runners including elite athletes competing for a prize pool of $90,000. Newcomers Habtom Samuel and Pamela Kosgei emerged victorious, while young talents like Georgia Moon took center stage as top seed in the high school mile event. Volunteers emphasized the importance of race accessibility, ensuring a welcoming environment for participants of all abilities, including a growing wheelchair division. The event not only highlights athletic competition but also pays tribute to running legend Joan Benoit Samuelson, with thousands of spectators cheering on the participants.
