The U.S. Department of Education has recognized numerous schools nationwide as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools. This prestigious award honors schools for their overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Among the notable winners are two Long Island elementary schools, 16 schools from Indiana, and seven schools from Louisiana. In total, 356 institutions have been honored, including 18 schools from Illinois, 10 from Maryland, and recognized schools from states like Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas, New Jersey, and West Virginia. The Blue Ribbon Schools program celebrates schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence, showcasing exemplary teaching and learning practices.
