A significant recall of cucumbers has been initiated due to potential Salmonella contamination, impacting consumers across 26 states in the U.S. and parts of Canada. This recall follows reports of illnesses linked to the contaminated cucumbers, with health authorities confirming at least 68 cases of infection. Major retailers, including Costco, have also recalled eggs under the Kirkland brand due to the same Salmonella risk. The FDA is urging consumers to check their refrigerators and discard any affected cucumbers and eggs immediately. Various grocery chains and produce companies, including SunFed Produce, LLC and Wegmans, are cooperating with the recall efforts amid concerns over public health and safety.
