Memorials Held for Omer Neutra, Slain American-Israeli Soldier
Omer Neutra, a 21-year-old American-Israeli soldier from Long Island, has been confirmed dead by the IDF, having been killed during the Hamas attack on October 7. Neutra was initially believed to be a hostage in Gaza, but the military announced that he was murdered by terrorists on that day. His family, grieving the loss, has publicly called for action from both the Israeli and US governments regarding the fate of other hostages. A memorial service was held in New York to honor Neutra, attended by many including friends who spoke of his caring nature. NY Governor Hochul has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in his memory.
