These accounts reportedly engaged in influence operations targeted at shaping perceptions around artificial intelligence (AI) and energy policies. Research indicates that many of these accounts experienced little to no engagement or followers, raising questions about their effectiveness. Despite this, the coordinated efforts seem to have fueled political divisions, as noted by Anna Paulina Luna, who stated that these operations are part of a broader strategy by China to manipulate US public opinion regarding technological infrastructure.
