New York State Announces $463 Million in Funding for Local Economic Development Projects
Governor Hochul has announced a significant financial boost for various local projects across New York State, awarding $463 million through the Regional Economic Development Council initiative. Notable grants include $30 million for a proposed tech manufacturing center in Long Island, $38 million for the Southworks project in Ithaca, and over $5.7 million for economic development and tourism projects in Utica. The funding will also support local projects in the Mohawk Valley, Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and GLOW regions, with additional resources earmarked for parks and trails. This initiative aims to enhance housing, infrastructure, and economic growth throughout the state.
