Strong Earthquakes Shake Taiwan with No Major Damage Reported
Taiwan has experienced successive strong earthquakes recently, including a 7.0-magnitude quake that struck near Yilan County, prompting the evacuation of some TSMC facilities. Fortunately, no major damage has been reported following these seismic events. In addition to the 7.0 quake, a separate 6.6-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast, further shaking the region. Authorities have confirmed that public transport services were temporarily slowed, and while residents panicked during these quakes, assessments show that immediate damage is minimal. The weather agency has indicated these are significant tremors but assures there is no tsunami threat.
