Severe Tornadoes Cause Widespread Damage in Northern Oklahoma
A series of powerful tornadoes struck northern Oklahoma, with the city of Enid bearing the brunt of the devastation. The National Weather Service rated the tornado that leveled numerous homes in Enid as an EF-4, resulting in significant structural damage but, fortunately, no fatalities reported. Emergency responses are underway as Governor Stitt declared a disaster emergency for Garfield and Kay Counties. Vance Air Force Base has been temporarily closed due to the impact, and at least 10 individuals have been reported injured. Recovery efforts are beginning, with local residents coming together to assist those affected by the disaster.
