Funding Challenges and Developments in Public Radio
As federal funding for public broadcasting diminishes, NPR finds itself in conflict with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) while seeking a restraining order against a CPB distribution grant. In the face of these challenges, CPB has awarded a grant to support public media infrastructure that will enhance public radio interconnection, providing a five-year lifeline for public radio distribution. Additionally, a new nonprofit entity has received funding aimed at improving public radio distribution through 2030.
