Florida State University has officially fired head football coach Mike Norvell following a disappointing 3-5 season and a loss to Clemson, marking the end of his six-plus year tenure. The decision to part ways comes with a hefty price tag, as the university will owe Norvell nearly $50 million in buyout costs. FSU President Richard McCullough and interim athletic director Bruce Warwick emphasized that today marks a new beginning for Florida State football, which has faced growing frustration among fans. The move has sparked discussions about potential replacements, with names such as Jimbo Fisher and Manny Diaz being mentioned, as the school seeks to turn around its football program amidst ongoing challenges.
