Daniel Khalife, a former soldier who infamously escaped from Wandsworth Prison by clinging to the bottom of a food van, has been convicted of spying for Iran. The UK court found him guilty of passing sensitive information to the Iranian government, and he was also implicated in a terrorism offence. Khalife, who has been controversially described as a fantasist with aspirations of being a double agent, now faces a considerable prison sentence as authorities investigate the security lapses that allowed his escape.
