Super Typhoon Ragasa Causes Devastation Across East Asia
Super Typhoon Ragasa, the most powerful storm of the year, has wreaked havoc across East Asia. After making landfall in the Philippines and Taiwan, where it caused at least 17 deaths and destroyed significant infrastructure, Ragasa has now slammed into southern China. Nearly 2 million people have been evacuated as the typhoon brought ferocious winds of up to 177 mph and heavy rainfall, leading to flooding in Hong Kong and other regions. Social media footage shows severe damage, including water flooding hotel lobbies and urban streets. With the storm now moving away from Hong Kong, officials are starting to assess the damage while mourning the casualties from its deadly path.
