Devastating Wildfires Lead to Major Destruction at Grand Canyon and Surrounding National Parks
Recent wildfires have wreaked havoc across the Grand Canyon, resulting in the destruction of the historic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim, along with numerous other structures. The Dragon Bravo Fire alone has claimed 50 to 80 buildings, while the White Sage Fire has expanded rapidly, prompting mandatory evacuations in northern Arizona. Meanwhile, a separate fire in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park continues to grow, leading to further evacuation orders. Local authorities are struggling to contain these fires, which have collectively scorched tens of thousands of acres and forced closures at multiple national parks. The situation remains critical as emergency measures are enacted to protect residents and visitors.
