Authorities in Michigan are on high alert following the discovery of five dead bodies along the Lansing River Trail, raising concerns of a potential serial killer in the area. Families of homeless victims are particularly fearful for the safety of others in the community and are calling for more support and emergency shelters. The medical examiner has ruled some of the deaths as indeterminate, complicating investigations. Police have urged residents to avoid the trail while investigations continue, and a criminologist has warned students at a nearby university about the dangers. The situation has sparked widespread fear and has led to discussions about the vulnerability of the homeless population in the face of this alarming series of events.
