Nationwide Ground Beef Recall Due to E. Coli Contamination
Over 167,000 pounds of ground beef produced by Wolverine Packing Co., a Detroit-based meat company, have been recalled due to concerns of E. coli contamination. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the recall following reports of illnesses linked to the affected products, which were shipped to restaurants and distributed nationwide. Health officials confirmed at least 17 cases of E. coli associated with the ground beef. Consumers are urged to check their freezers and avoid any products that may be contaminated. This extensive recall highlights ongoing food safety concerns as the holiday season approaches.
